About the brand:
MAC was founded in Wald / Roßbach near Regensburg in the early 1970s. For more than 40 years, the passion has been the design of the perfect trousers - with visible success.
Sustainability (from Mac):
MAC has stood for high-quality materials and a respectful approach to people and nature since 1973. We see the topic of sustainability as a daily challenge to continuously improve in all areas of the value chain - socially and ecologically. This is what PROTECT OUR PLANET stands for, with which we demonstrate, among other things, how we deal with the important and precious resource water. With our styles, the water consumption is significantly reduced compared to common methods. In addition, we use technologies that dispense with chemicals that, unfiltered, can pollute water and drinking water as poisonous and pollutants.
MAC has been GOTS certified as a company since October 2020 (BCS - 36343). Behind GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard - is a globally recognized seal and the leading standard for the entire processing of clothing and home textiles. With our pants, which bear the GOTS logo, we not only commit to using organic fibers and not using pesticides. The strictest environmental requirements and extensive social criteria also apply. This affects the entire supply chain, from the raw material, through its processing and sustainable production, to deliveries to the retailer and transparent labeling for the end consumer. Independent certification bodies regularly check compliance with the requirements. Our goal is to further increase the proportion of GOTS certified products in the coming years.
In September 2020, Eveline Schönleber, Managing Director & Shareholder of MAC, presented sustainable product innovations from MAC at the Sustainable Fashion Summit of the renowned textile industry magazine. The clear focus is always on the triad of economic, ecological and social responsibility. Sustainability and entrepreneurial foresight have always been deeply anchored in MAC's DNA and are not based on trends, but are understood as lived values.
